Types of Membership

Ordinary Membership to the NBIPA is open to all qualified and interested parties who shall be individuals with professional or other interests in the operational areas of the Association.

Voting Members:

Honorary and or Founder Member

A natural person who the Board has, in its absolute discretion, conferred Honorary Membership status for rendering outstanding service to the art and science of the industry or to the association.  These members are not required to pay a subscription, and are entitled to vote.

Individual Member

A professionally designated person in possession of a valid qualification  within the various fields of practice and study of cosmetology and its related branches These members are required to pay an annual subscription, and are entitled to one vote.  Fees are payable to NBIPA in advance on an annual basis.

These members are entitled to cast a vote in person or via proxy at the Annual General Meeting or any membership meeting called for.

Non Voting Members:

Corporate Member

Is a Business entity, which may include salons, schools, independent educators and authorised distributors of products and equipment made exclusively available to salon professionals. These entities may not indicate that their activities, products or training are endorsed by the NBIPA unless they have made a written application to the Board, comply with the criteria as set out by the Board and their application has been approved by the Board, in its discretion. Such entity is required to subscribe to the Association annually and do NOT have a vote.

Affiliate Member

Constitutes a person holding position that is excluded from the membership designations.

Student Member

A natural person following a course of a recognised standard of education and training in the industry.  These members are required to pay an annual subscription and are not entitled to vote.

These members are NOT eligible to cast a vote in person or via proxy at the Annual General Meeting or any membership meeting called for.
